Job Description


Brownfield Project Engineer in the Bonga Asset Projects team reporting to the Bonga Asset Projects Portfolio Manager.

Responsibilities

The following responsibilities is required for a Senior Project Engineer

  • You are responsible for the development of assigned projects from front end design, through comprehensive design to commissioning and closure.
  • Sticking to Shell HSSE standards and also to deliver within budget
  • Schedule and quality requirements.
  • Adequate management and delivery through contractors and resources drawn from the matrix organisation.
  • The medium through which these projects will be delivered is through external contractor resources.

Other Responsibilities

  • Responsible for visible leadership in HSSE to drive Goal Zero.
  • Possess high moral standard
  • Improve the scope of assigned projects and progress though relevant decision gates including preparation of schedules and cost estimate. Projects are usually for topsides facilities.
  • Improvement of contract policy to implement the assigned scope. In most case a dedicated contract is needed and thus responsibility may require candicate to be highly responsible for managing the contract.
  • Focus on interface management, interface controls and follow-up.
  • Manage the relationships with disciplined engineers, contract packages as well as stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the control of project and ensuring that the Portfolio Manager is well informed concerning the growth of the work and highlighting important deviations from plans and providing proposals for remedial actions.
  • Proper preparation of engineering package to describe the scope appropriate for the project stage, inline with the anticipation of fit-for-purpose project development and the team’s wish to move to top quartile brownfield performance.
  • Development, review and approval of contractor quotations and proper monitoring of their costs.
  • Must have a continuous development mindset.
  • Make proper use of the expertise of Shell to ensure that you meet the project quality and technical integrity requirements.
  • Getting engaged with all local government agencies and regulatory authourities.

Requirements for Senior Project Engineer at Shell

The following requirements are expected of a Senior Project Engineer at Shell Petroleum Development Company.

  • You must have a minimum of 2nd Class Lower degree in engineering (BSc, BEng or higher) and also a minimum of 10 years experience in off shore oil & gas development, preferably FPSO
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in project execution in the offshore or deepwater environment as well as design, contracting, procurement, fabrication, offshore construction, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Must have a qualification in Project Management.
  • Must be Registered with COREN
  • High personal energy level and a proven track record in achieving stretched personal and business goals is required. Able to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Skillful in presentation and communications
  • Conversant with MS Office applications and familiar with Primavera P6
  • Strong interpersonal skills able to influence and and develop relationships across teams, and to deliver though others.
  • Good ability to work and manage in a varied, multi-cultural environment.
