MEDICAL CONSULTANTS: Interested applicants MUST be doctors in the following fields of specialization.

  • Cardiothoracic Surgery,
  • ENT Surgery,
  • General Surgery,
  • Neurosurgery,
  • Oncology,
  • Ophthalmology,
  • Orthodentistry,
  • Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery,
  • Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery,
  • Physicians (Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Neurology, and Anesthesia). Applicants for selection as consultants MUST certify the under listed requirements:

Requirements

  • Interested applicants MUST be Associates of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent and not more than 40 years old.
  • Consultants who have passed the age of 35 years would be appointed Direct Regular Commission while those above 35 years but not more than 40 years would be appointed Direct Short Service Commission.
  • Applicants MUST possess additional MDCN registration and have current licence to practice as a specialist.

GENERAL MEDICINE/DENTISTRY: Interested applicants MUST be in possession of MBBS/BDS or equivalent and MUST have current practicing licence from MDCN.

NURSING: Interested is requested to have in possession, a BSc Nursing with RM. Any other additional qualification in nursing sub-specialty is an added advantage. Candidates should also have current practicing licence issued by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

PHARMACY: Interested applicants is required to possess Pharm D or B Pharm degree and MUST have current practicing licence issued by Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).

RADIOGRAPHY: Interested applicants MUST acquire a minimum of B Rad or BSc in Radiography and MUST have current practicing licence issued by Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).

DIETETICS/NUTRITION: Interested applicants MUST have at least a BSc or HND in Nutrition and Dietetics or Human Nutrition. Candidates MUST also have current practicing licence issued by the Institute for Dietetics in Nigeria (DCN).

MEDICAL LAB SCIENCE: Interested applicant MUST be in possession of either a BMLS or AMLSCN and a current practicing licence issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) is required.

PHYSIOTHERAPY: Interested applicants MUST be in possession of either BSc in Physiotherapy, B Physiotherapy or Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (PT). it is also required that applicants have a current practicing licence issued by the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria (MRTRBN).

HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT: Interested applicants MUST acquire a HND in Health Information Management and a current practicing licence issued by the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) is required.

ENVIRONMENT HEALTH: Interested applicants MUST have at least a BSc/HND in Environmental Health Technology and a current practicing licence issued by the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON) is required.

COMMUNITY HEALTH: Interested applicant MUST have at least a BSc/HND in Community Health and MUST have current practicing licence issued by the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBON).

OPTOMETRY: Applicants who wish to apply for this department MUST possess Doctor of Optometry degree and a current practicing licence issued by the Optometrists and Dispensing Optician Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN) is highly required.

DENTAL THERAPY: Interested candidates are required to be in possession of at least a BSc or HND in Dental Therapy and MUST have current practicing licence issued by Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria (DThRBN).

DENTAL TECHNOLOGY: Interested candidates are required to have a minimum of B Tech or HND in Dental Technology and a current practicing licence issued by Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria (DTRBN) is highly required.

BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING: Interested applicants should be in possession of a minimum of BEng degree or HND in Biomedical Engineering.

PSYCHOLOGY: Applicants who are interested in this department are required to possess a minimum of BSc in Psychology is required. Possession of Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology will be an added advantage. Finally, Candidates a current practicing licence issued by the Nigerian Council for Psychologists (NCP) is highly required.

MEDICAL PHYSIOLOGY: Applicants MUST be in possession of at least a BSc in Physiology is required.

VETERINARY SURGERY: Interested applicants MUST have DVM degree and MUST have current practicing licence issued by the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN).

Conditions for the Service

  • Medical Consultants on successful completion of military training shall be granted the rank of Squadron Leader.
  • Cadets of all other specialties who successfully complete the military training shall be granted the rank of Flying Officer.

Nigerian Air Force Registration and Closing Date

The Nigerian Air Force DRC / DSSC Medical Special Enlistment Application is scheduled to begin on 22nd October, 2019 and close on 19th November, 2019. Candidates should ensure to fill and submit the form on the registration dates.

General Requirements

Applicant MUST be a Nigerian by birth.

Interested Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years by 30th September 2020 (not more than 40 years for Consultants).

For Male applicants, a minimum of 1.66 meters tall is required while female applicants must not be less than 1.63 meters tall.

Interested applicants MUST ensure there are medically fit and meet the Nigerian Air Force Medical and Employment Standards.

Academic and Professional qualifications

  • Applicants are required to have in possession a Second Class Upper division for holders of the first degree and Upper Credit for HND holders. A knowledge in Computer will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants MUST have the NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption from NYSC when they are applying for Direct Regular Commission/Direct Short Service Commission. Applicants MUST also tender all original copies of educational certificates (primary to post secondary) during the Selection Interview.
  • Applicants MUST have in possession certificates of full registration with their respective constitutional professional bodies in Nigeria where applicable.
  • Attestation Forms: It is required that all applicant’s attestation form be signed by a military officer not below the rank of Wing Commander or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy or Nigerian Police Officer not below the rank of Assistant CP or Local Government Chairman/Secretary or magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin. The signee’s passport photograph and either photocopy of national identity card or driver’s licence or international passport must be attached to the form.
  • Letter of Attestation of Good Character: It is highly required that applicants go along with a letter of attestation of good character from the signee of the attestation form to the Selection Interview.
  • Applicants MUST not have any form of tattoos on their bodies.
  • Applicants MUST not be belong to any cult/secret society/fraternity.
  • Applicants MUST not have been convicted by any court of law. Military personnel MUST be free from any disciplinary case.
  • The contact addresses and telephone numbers of parent/guardians should be presented by the applicants.

PROMPT: After filling and submitting the application form it is required that applicants print out the Acknowledgment Slip, Parent/Guardian Consent Form and Local Government Attestation Form.
